Design Project Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to support our projects from concept through completion, someone equally comfortable producing construction documents in Revit/AutoCAD as they are running a job site inspection. This is a niche, hands-on role, and we're selective about who fills it.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and revise construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD, including layouts, detail drawings, and diagrams.

- Make drawing changes, redlines, and specification updates as projects develop.

- Prepare presentation drawings and plan options for clients.

- Track submittals, RFIs, and approvals; review shop drawings and estimates with architects, engineers, and contractors.

- Coordinate and lead project meetings; manage communications and action items.

- Conduct on-site inspections and field verification, documenting quality, code compliance, safety, and progress.

- Assist with permitting across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.

- Prepare and distribute weekly project updates with progress photos.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Drafting, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 10+ years of experience in architectural design, drafting, or construction project management.

- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, plus Microsoft Office and MS Project.

- Solid understanding of drafting techniques, construction terminology, and general building code.

- Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.

- Familiarity with owner's representation or construction administration is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

- Regular field work, including site visits over uneven terrain and in variable weather, plus occasional lifting up to 25 to 50 lbs.

- Occasional travel and irregular hours around project milestones.
