\nPosition Summary
\nNortheast Coating Technologies (NCT), part of the HEF Group, is seeking to hire a design technician or engineer to design fixtures and machine components supporting PVD metal coating and salt bath nitriding operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on with 1-3 years’ experience working with fabricators. Being able to work closely with the team on the floor to understand the needs, the details, and the trouble shooting methods.
\nReporting: to Regional Engineering manager
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- Design tooling with CAD and especially SOLID WORKS
\n- Design fixtures and machine components for PVD metal coating and Salt bath nitriding
\n- Understand the needs on the production floor and design loads to maximize capacity
\n- Work with different fabricators and provide accurate drawings with good tolerance
\n- Hands on engagement regarding tooling and fixturing needs on the production floor
\n- Learn all steps of the process in depth including polishing, degreasing, rinse, SBN treatment, oxidizing, quenching, oiling, etc.
\n- Work as a team with production and quality teams to achieve customer required deliverables.
\n- Create and manage technical documents
\n- Liaise with HEF Group Research & Development, and Application Engineering organizations to develop effective working relationships to enhance operational and coating information and application engineering exchange.
\n- Assist Operations and Sales in preparing price quotes based on quantity per batch by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, and other technical personnel.
\n- Contribute to the assembly and installation of new equipment
\n- Support colleagues and other departments across the region as required
\n- Teamwork, flexibility, and commitment to learn and support
\nQualifications
\n- 1 to 3 years’ experience with CAD and Solid Works and designed and ordered tooling
\n- Worked with Fabricators and understand correct tolerances
\n- Hands on and enthusiastic to learn on the floor and through different theoretical trainings.
