Are you detail-driven, technically minded and passionate about turning ideas into precise, production-ready designs? We re hiring a Designer Drafter in Columbus, NE to create the drawings and documentation that help bring manufacturing equipment and components to life.
This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical drafting, problem-solving and collaboration in a manufacturing environment. You ll work closely with engineering and production teams to transform concepts and shop-floor needs into accurate drawings that support safe, efficient manufacturing.
What You ll Do
Create detailed drawings for manufacturing equipment, components and parts
Create ERP items and develop accurate bills of material (BOMs)
Collaborate with team members on new product designs and improvements to existing products
Work directly with production teams to ensure drawings are clear, accurate and practical for manufacturing
Update and maintain existing drawings as designs and production needs change
Complete drawings and bills of material according to established schedules and drafting standards
Apply appropriate quality controls including GD&T requirements as needed
Help turn production challenges and improvement ideas into workable design solutions
What We re Looking For
Knowledge of general drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Ability to learn and follow established engineering and drafting standards
Ability to quickly learn Autodesk Inventor, Vault and JD Edwards ERP software
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with engineering, production and other team members
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to complete projects according to established deadlines
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Strong commitment to safety and quality
