DJCA Cornerstone PLLC is seeking an experienced Designer / Project Manager to support our architects in preparing construction documents, including layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams with all views, dimensions, and technical information needed for construction. You'll coordinate Revit and CAD work on the team and carry projects from design development through construction, making day-to-day decisions and bringing select questions to the architect or supervisor.
Design & Documentation
Prepare presentation drawings and similar materials, including design and drawing of layouts for proposed architectural plan options
Prepare Revit-based construction documents and specifications, including tables and schedules, and update drawings and designs
Make drawing changes as directed by the architect: redline corrections and updates to project specifications and notes during design development
Support revisions, supplemental design information, and drawing development on active projects
Make the final sketch of proposed drawings, checking dimensions, materials, how the parts relate to one another, and how they relate to the overall structure
Review building and municipal code for projects
Review product submissions, shop drawings, work scopes, and estimates; consult with drafters, architects, engineers, and clients to check designs and verify that specifications and design data are correct
Project Coordination
Coordinate with project team members, clients, vendors, and professionals
Manage project communications and action lists
Manage specific pieces of larger projects, such as FF&E and other contracts
Review and track submittals, RFIs, responses, and approvals
Coordinate, participate in, and/or lead project meetings
Assist with local, state, and federal permitting to ensure all permits are secured
Field Work
Perform on-site inspections for quality of work and materials, conformity with plans and specifications, code compliance, site safety, and construction progress
Field verify, photograph, measure, and document existing conditions
Maintain observation logs covering work progress, methods, contractors on site, weather, and photos
Support weekly project updates with progress photos
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Drafting, or Design, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in architectural design and preparation of construction documents
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit, Microsoft Office, and MS Project
Solid understanding of drafting techniques, construction terminology, building code, and building construction and associated systems
Good design, technical, and organizational skills
Strong leadership, client service, and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects, work independently with sound judgment, and collaborate with a team
Mechanical aptitude and ability to complete basic math calculations
Ability to perform field verification work
Valid New York State driver's license and own transportation

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Mix of office and job site work, including walking uneven terrain and occasionally climbing or crawling through constructed spaces alongside inspectors
Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 25–50 lbs
Occasional exposure to inclement weather for more than an hour at a time
Extended computer work; occasional travel and irregular hours around deadlines
