    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Desktop Support Technician will provide technical assistance and support for incoming internal employee queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. They will respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions. Additionally, they will provide support to the IT Manager and Managed Services Provider.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide technical support to employees on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve technical issues reported.
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
    • Assist in maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure and all associated devices.
    • Provide instructions to employees on basic hardware and software functions.
    • Document internal procedures and create user guides.
    • Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
    • Participate in the deployment of new systems and hardware, ensuring all equipment is properly configured and tested.
    • Work with all levels of leadership to refine internal based systems to ensure optimum operational status while assisting the IT Director and Managed Services Provider in overall implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of systems.
    • Maintain documentation of technical changes and systems.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Basic Information Technology (IT) certification such as CompTIA, A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Network+ or IT job readiness program.
    • Six months of IT work.

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

    • Associates degree in Computer Science or similar field.
    • Experience in helpdesk/desktop support.
    • Familiarity with network management and help desk software.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.

    Working Conditions

    General working conditions are in a healthcare facility. As such, there is a potential exposure to virus, disease, and infection from patients while performing the duties of this job. May experience traumatic situations including psychiatric traumatized and deceased patients. Travel may be expected to community meetings, client homes, or other agencies.

    Physical Demands

    While performing duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk and hear; both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel, or operate standard office or clinical equipment; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

    Mental Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read, analyze, and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with others outside of their department.
