Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing New York City organization, for an IT Support Specialist to join their technology team. This is a great opportunity for a service-minded IT professional to be the go-to resource for hardware, software, and network troubleshooting while helping the business run smoothly day to day.

Day to day, you will field tickets, walk end users through fixes, and quietly keep the office's systems humming so nobody else has to think about IT. People who thrive in this role are patient communicators who enjoy solving puzzles, stay calm when several issues hit at once, and take pride in explaining technical things in plain language.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to help desk tickets and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Set up and configure laptops, desktops, and mobile devices for new hires
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory
  • Troubleshoot printer, VPN, Wi-Fi, and video conferencing problems
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of employees from an IT perspective
  • Document recurring issues and contribute to internal knowledge base articles
  • Assist with basic server maintenance and routine system updates
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or outside vendors as needed
  • Provide friendly in-person and remote technical support to all staff

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role
  • Working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and basic networking concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working under time pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or related field preferred
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification a plus
  • Ability to lift and set up computer equipment as needed
  • Availability for occasional after-hours support during system updates

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k plan with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Professional development and certification reimbursement
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Commuter benefits
  • Employee wellness programs
  • Casual office environment
  • Opportunities for growth into senior IT roles
