Desktop Support Technician (Entry–Mid Level)
Jacksonville, FL (32226 area)
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
12-month contract (strong potential for extension or conversion)
About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated Field Engineer III to join our team supporting a government client. This is a great opportunity for early-career IT professionals or recent grads who want hands-on experience with hardware, software, and network support in a dynamic environment.
If you enjoy troubleshooting, working with technology, and solving real-world problems—this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Set up, install, and maintain computer hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot issues across desktops, laptops, printers, and basic network devices
  • Support and maintain legacy and current systems
  • Perform hardware replacements (including disk swaps on enterprise systems)
  • Handle installs, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC work)
  • Test and certify systems and applications
  • Work with ticketing systems to track and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with Help Desk/Service Desk to resolve escalated problems
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professionalism on-site
What We’re Looking For
  • 1–3 years of IT support experience (or strong technical training/recent grad)
  • Basic knowledge of hardware, software, and troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational skills and a solid work ethic
  • Ability to follow processes while also thinking independently to solve problems
Nice to Have:
  • Certifications (A+, Security+, Apple, Dell, etc.)
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Mobile device deployment (iOS/Android)
  • Hardware/software deployment or repair experience
 
Work Environment
  • Primarily non-driving role, but occasional travel between nearby sites may be required
  • Work performed at a secure government location
Important Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be 18 years or older
Compensation
  • $25/hr
  • Overtime structure and long-term assignment incentives included
