    As a Detection and Investigation Analyst Sr., within PNC''s Physical Security Operations Center, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA.

    The Physical Security Operation Center is a 24x7 environment. We are hiring for multiple shifts.

    The Physical Security Operations Detection & Investigations Analyst is an entry level opportunity and plays a critical role in safeguarding personnel, facilities, assets, and information through the proactive monitoring, detection, assessment, and investigation of physical security events across the enterprise. This position leverages security technologies, operational intelligence, and investigative methodologies to identify potential threats, assess risk, coordinate incident response activities, and support enterprise security objectives.

    The analyst is responsible for monitoring and managing alarm systems, access control platforms, video surveillance technologies, credentialing systems, and emergency communications while conducting detailed event analysis, evidence preservation, and investigative support activities. The role serves as a central coordination point for security incidents, collaborating with business partners, security personnel, facilities teams, Human Resources, service providers, and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure timely and effective resolution of security concerns.

    Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and established security procedures. The analyst contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying security trends, operational vulnerabilities, and opportunities to strengthen enterprise physical security controls.

    This position works closely with the various pillars of the PSOC including Card Access and Badge provisioning, Alarm Monitoring, Video as a Service, Eye in the Sky, and the Physical Security Command Center. The selected candidate may be placed in a primary position within any of these pillars but may also be cross trained to work across other pillars. This position supports a 24/7 security monitoring environment, as such positions will be filled across various primary shifts.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review shift information, open incidents, system issues, and pending follow-up items; provide clear shift-change communication to support operational continuity.
    • Monitor and operate alarm, access-control, CCTV/video management, badge-reader, telephone, and related communication systems.
    • Receive, document, assess, and respond to security, police, emergency, customer, management, and alarm communications using established dispatch and escalation protocols.
    • Analyze alarms, video, site data, cardholder information, and event history to determine urgency, risk, operational impact, root cause, and the appropriate response.
    • Verify reported activity and coordinate notifications, dispatch, emergency assistance, service calls, management escalation, and law-enforcement support as required.
    • Document incidents, contacts, decisions, actions, responses, and outcomes; prepare accurate reports and maintain dashboards, logs, and records that may support investigations or legal proceedings.
    • Track incidents and service requests through resolution while managing multiple priorities with accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
    • Retrieve, review, preserve, save, transmit, and post video footage or still images for authorized investigations, legal requests, incidents, and special projects.
    • Conduct live video monitoring during emergencies, natural disasters, protest activity, special events, and other elevated-risk situations.
    • Perform camera quality checks, troubleshoot functionality and image-quality issues, and coordinate corrective service when required.
    • Maintain secure intake, inventory, storage, retrieval, and chain-of-custody controls for hard drives and other archived video media.
    • Review, verify, create, activate, issue, update, replace, and deactivate employee, contractor, and visitor access credentials in accordance with approved authorization.
    • Research and resolve discrepancies involving identity documentation, badge requests, access privileges, cardholder records, system exceptions, and access-control transactions.
    • Perform quality reviews of access-card production, account maintenance, authorizations, documentation, and related staff activity; coordinate corrective actions and maintain controls throughout the credential lifecycle.
    • Identify unauthorized activity, recurring alarms, process deficiencies, system trends, and security vulnerabilities; recommend corrective controls and continuous improvements.
    • Escalate high-risk requests, policy exceptions, significant incidents, and potential operational or reputational concerns to management with appropriate recommendations.
    • Collaborate with security personnel, Human Resources, facilities, production and service teams, business partners, leadership, and law enforcement to resolve requests and incidents.
    • Comply with physical security standards, internal controls, emergency procedures, confidentiality requirements, access-control policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Perform related administrative, clerical, and special-project duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Proficiency with Windows-based computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, web browsers, and electronic reporting tools.
    • Ability to learn and operate alarm, access-control, video management, camera, badge-reader, telephone, and communication systems.
    • Minimum typing proficiency of 25 words per minute.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally and to prepare complete, accurate documentation.
    • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive events, exercise sound judgment, protect confidential information, and work effectively with limited supervision.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    This position requires prolonged periods of seated work in a security monitoring environment, sustained attention to multiple screens and communication channels, and the ability to respond calmly and accurately to routine and urgent events.

    Job Description

    • Reviews and investigates customer cases, reports, and work for potential and actual loss; minimizes fraud, AML and/or organizational risk. Responsible for early detection of suspicious activity, control and prevention of losses.
    • Researches and analyzes bank activities and reports to detect and prevent possible fraudulent and suspicious activities. Recommends disposition.
    • Uses defined research procedures to identify and resolve issues. Starts to identify trends.
    • Follows standards and practices to mitigate fraud, AML and other risk exposure and loss. Shares best practices amongst the team and/or service partners.
    • Prepares and maintains appropriate documentation of analysis performed and coordinates with internal or external stakeholders as appropriate.
