Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Dev/Research Engineer 1. The work will be done onsite full-time in Mossville, IL. This is a 12-month long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $32.70/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Dev/Research Engineer to support testing, validation, and development activities for mechanical components within a research and engineering environment. This role focuses on operating test equipment, analyzing data, and supporting product validation efforts to improve performance, durability, and reliability. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, support new product introduction, and contribute to continuous product improvement. This position offers a balance of lab-based testing and analytical engineering work in a collaborative technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain test equipment and validation benches for mechanical components
• Conduct testing and analyze data to evaluate product performance and reliability
• Perform root cause analysis on test results and field issues
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and current product improvement (CPI) initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering teams to validate designs and optimize system performance
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field
• 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships acceptable)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings effectively
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo or similar software
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with test or validation engineering
• Exposure to data analysis tools or software
• Familiarity with instrumentation or control systems
• Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic materials or components
• Experience working in lab or testing environments
