Dev/Research Engineer 2
Location: Tucson, AZ Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Onsite) Pay Rate: Up to $49/hour Duration:12-month contract with strong potential for extension
We are seeking a Dev/Research Engineer 2 to support machine software, controls development, and validation activities on current and next-generation equipment platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience working with advanced machine technologies, software testing, controls systems, and product validation.
Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and document machine-level software and controls testing.
Support validation activities to ensure products meet performance and quality requirements.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, software, and controls-related issues.
Analyze testing results and provide recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, operators, and cross-functional teams.
Create and maintain test plans, documentation, and validation reports.
Utilize tools such as CANape, CANalyzer, Excel, Power BI, and MS Office for testing and data analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
1-2 years of engineering experience (internships and co-ops are acceptable).
Experience with testing, validation, troubleshooting, or controls systems.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
Comfortable working around equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Preferred Experience
Heavy equipment, automotive, industrial machinery, agricultural, mining, or construction equipment.
Controls systems, machine software testing, or data acquisition.
Experience using CANape, CANalyzer, Power BI, or similar diagnostic tools.
