Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Dev/Research Engineer 2 to support testing and validation of large mining equipment and machine subsystems. The role focuses on planning, executing, documenting, and troubleshooting machine-level tests, including software functionality and system-level validation.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and document machine-level testing and validation.
Support testing of large mining equipment and machine subsystems.
Validate software functionality and system-level requirements.
Develop test plans, standard work procedures, and documentation.
Perform data acquisition and analyze test results.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
Work closely with engineers, mechanics, operators, instrumentation technicians, supply chain, and logistics teams.
Safely operate equipment after required training.
Support continuous improvement, safety, product performance, and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
1 2 years of relevant experience.
Engineering internships are acceptable.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.
Hands-on experience with equipment, machinery, mechanical work, construction, automotive, or similar environments.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and in indoor/outdoor conditions.
Preferred Skills
Testing or validation experience in heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery.
Experience with construction, mining, forestry, or agricultural equipment.
Data acquisition experience.
Experience with machine-level or system-level testing.
Ideal Candidate
1 2 years of engineering experience with a hands-on mindset.
Comfortable working around heavy equipment and spending most of the day away from a desk.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
Candidates with backgrounds in mechanical work, construction, automotive, or similar hands-on environments may also be considered.
Work Environment
Approximately 20% office / 80% shop or local field.
Hands-on work around large equipment.
PPE required, including safety boots, glasses, and uniform.

2nd round: Virtual/phone panel
Site tour may be included during the interview process.
Non-local candidates may be considered if willing to relocate at their own expense.
