We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Harper Woods, MI. In this role, you will support project managers and field teams in planning, executing, and finalizing construction projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Details

Site Coordination & Oversight
  • Support day-to-day field operations on active construction sites.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with plans, specs, codes, and company standards.
  • Act as liaison between project management, subcontractors, consultants, and field staff.
  • Document Control & Reporting
  • Maintain as-built drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation.
  • Assist with daily reports, photos, and project logs to track progress and issues.
  • Verify subcontractor scopes are being executed correctly.

Quality Assurance & Safety
  • Monitor construction activities for quality control and adherence to design.
  • Enforce site safety policies and participate in toolbox talks/inspections.
  • Report and help resolve any safety or quality concerns.

Scheduling & Logistics
  • Assist Superintendents in sequencing work and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Track material deliveries, equipment needs, and manpower on site.
  • Flag delays or potential conflicts to project leadership.

Technical Support
  • Review drawings, specs, and shop drawings to ensure constructability.
  • Support layout and surveying efforts, sometimes handling basic site layout.
  • Provide field solutions to unforeseen conditions with input from design teams.

Cost & Procurement Support
  • Help track field-related costs, quantities, and productivity.
  • Confirm materials received align with purchase orders and project specs.
  • Assist in evaluating subcontractor pay applications against progress in the field.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction
  • Represent the developer/builder in field meetings, site walks, and inspections.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure the owner’s interests are protected while maintaining positive subcontractor relationships
