Full-Stack Developer Consultant

Remote | Contract | Initial 3–9 months

We’re seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Developer to help build a next-generation portal and payment/data-integration platform for a health-benefits technology company.

This is a greenfield build—not a maintenance role. You’ll work with a small senior team and the CTO to develop a role-based marketplace/portal experience, administrative workflows, APIs, and integrations that will become the foundation for a broader legacy-platform replacement.

What You’ll Do

• Build user-facing portal and marketplace features using modern front-end technologies.

• Develop and integrate REST APIs, external data exchanges, and payment-related workflows.

• Work across a modern stack including React, Node.js, Python, AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, and serverless/queue-based services.

• Partner closely with the CTO, PM/BA, QA, and stakeholders to turn evolving requirements into working software.

• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, Copilot, or similar tools to accelerate development, testing, and problem solving.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong full-stack development experience, with solid front-end skills in React and TypeScript/JavaScript.

• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party systems.

• Familiarity with AWS/cloud-native development, Docker, databases, and automated testing.

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous, startup-like environment.

• Real-world experience using AI coding tools as part of your development workflow.

• Payments, banking, benefits, healthcare, ACH, Fedwire, FedNow, or API-integration experience is a plus—but not required.

Engagement Details

• Remote independent consulting engagement.

• Initial 3–9 month project, with potential to extend into platform modernization, migration, and broader product development.

• Hours may flex based on project needs and are not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.
