The Manhattan Division at UJA-Federation of NY engages donors through meaningful volunteer projects, content-rich experiences, synagogue affiliation, neighborhood-based networks, community events, and leadership development. The Development Associate or Development Executive will oversee the UJAPride and general Manhattan Division fundraising portfolios. The professional will cultivate donor relationships to strengthen the UJA annual campaign through one-on-one engagement, leadership committee engagement, group programs and events, educational content, UJA wide leadership opportunities, and more.
- UJAPride: Expanding the division through leadership and committee engagement, programs, and events, with a focus on increasing community gifts.
- Manhattan Community: Growing the campaign by working with lay leaders to engage in UJA’s work through individual solicitations and planning boutique events.
- Israel Emergency Fund (IEF): Converting new IEF donors into annual donors through engagement, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
- Outer Boroughs: Maintain existing donors by building relationships with emerging Jewish communities outside of Manhattan, adding new events, and focusing on young leadership.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage fundraising portfolios and develop prospecting strategies to grow UJA’s donor base in the LGBTQ+ community, and outer boroughs
- Convert $1,000 and over Israel Emergency Fund donors into annual contributors
- Think creatively and strategically about relevant programs to engage donors and prospects
- Identify and collaborate with lay leaders, inspiring them to serve as ambassadors for UJA
- Maintain records of donor profiles and evaluate progress regularly with supervisor
- Help with Manhattan Division general needs as they arise
- Establish and maintain key community partnerships to strengthen UJA’s presence in the LGBTQ+ community and other donors
Competencies and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Five years or more of post-college work experience
- Strategic thinking and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking and analytic abilities
- Experience coordinating events
- Knowledge of issues facing the Jewish community and passion for UJA’s mission
- Ability to initiate and follow through on self-defined goals and objectives while remaining part of a collaborative team

Salary Range:
$66,500 - $78,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
