A well-established cultural and educational organization is seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising and community engagement initiatives connected to its early childhood programs, nursery school, and parenting center.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional with experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, events, education, family programs, community engagement, or administrative support who is interested in growing within the nonprofit development field.
  • Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan, NY
    Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
    Salary: $26-29/hr per hour, converting to $58,000-$62,000 per year after about 6 months
    Work Arrangement: Onsite for the first ~6 months, with 1 day hybrid flexibility thereafter

You will work closely with the Senior Director of Development and support donor relationships, fundraising campaigns, events, parent engagement, communications, and the day-to-day operations of the Development team.

Responsibilities
  • Support donor communications, cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist with annual fundraising, alumni initiatives, and special appeals.
  • Coordinate fundraising, family, and community events, including RSVPs and follow-up.
  • Support parent and family engagement initiatives.
  • Prepare mailings, reports, donor lists, and meeting materials.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and outreach activity in fundraising databases.
  • Process invoices, gift forms, and team expenses.
  • Assist with donor research and prospecting.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Development team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit, development, fundraising, events, education, community engagement, or office administration.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Professional and personable when interacting with families, donors, and senior-level individuals.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Tessitura, Blackbaud, or other fundraising software experience is a plus.
