Position Purpose
The Development Associate (DA) will support and facilitate development office projects, excluding major gift work, for the School of Nursing. They will take responsibility for development functions including donor stewardship outreach and communications; annual fund efforts; supporting fundraising and donor engagement events; gift processing; and other development related efforts not directly linked to cultivating and soliciting major gifts. The DA is also responsible for writing and preparing executive level communication, custom acknowledgement letters, donor impact reports, and providing proposal writing support.
The DA will report to the Director of Philanthropy, School of Nursing & School of Health Sciences and must have experience in managing multiple tasks and a good working knowledge of development. Note: Evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required.
Job Duties
Lead efforts for drafting and preparing executive level communications, donor acknowledgment letters, donor impact reports, and other donor cultivation & stewardship materials produced by SON. This includes story gathering and securing thank you notes from student scholarship recipients. Will support proposal development efforts led by the Director of Philanthropy.
Works closely with Director of Philanthropy, annual giving team and unit faculty and staff to conduct annual giving campaigns such as Giving Day, OUFD, unit specific appeals, etc.
Assist with Advisory Board engagement activities.
Provide support for SON fundraising events, with an emphasis on sponsor fulfillment. Support other donor cultivation and stewardship events as needed.
Assist with improvement of SON development office processes, as well as processes of others impacted by SON donor engagement. To include management of SON fundraising files.
