    Position Title:

    Development Coordinator

    Job Summary:


    The Development Coordinator supports the fundraising goals of the College of Lake County Foundation by coordinating major and planned giving activities and managing development data systems. Working closely with fundraisers, this role supports donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts; prepares fundraising materials and reports; manages key processes and timelines; and helps enhance fundraising operations and the donor experience. The Coordinator serves as a primary resource for Raiser’s Edge and related systems, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and effective system use. Through strong organization, initiative, and attention to detail, the Coordinator helps ensure efficient and effective development operations.

    Job Description:

    Project & Process Management - 40%

    • Coordinate activities supporting donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and planned giving.
    • Prepare donor and prospect briefings using research, giving history, and engagement data.
    • Support donor meetings, visits, solicitations, and related communications, materials, and follow-up.
    • Coordinate gift agreements, proposals, pledges, and other fundraising documentation.
    • Manage timelines and materials for funding requests, impact reports, and scholarship reporting.
    • Develop and improve procedures, tools, and resources that enhance fundraising operations and donor experience.

    Technology Support - 40%

    • Manage fundraising CRM systems, including data maintenance, imports, functionality, and reporting.
    • Serve as a key resource for Raiser's Edge/NXT and related systems, providing user support and training.
    • Maintain accurate donor, prospect, and fundraising activity records.
    • Generate reports, lists, queries, and data exports to support development activities.
    • Stay current on CRM and fundraising technology best practices.

    Student/Customer Service - 10%

    • Provide professional service to donors, alumni, volunteers, board members, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.

    Other - 10%

    • Participate in cross-departmental initiatives, campus events, and assigned cross-functional teams, committees, and councils.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission, vision, strategic priorities and goals of the College and the primary unit, division and department of this position. 

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate’s degree.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience providing administrative, project coordination, fundraising, database or related professional support.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience regularly using a database or CRM system to maintain, organize and retrieve information.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
    • Ability to analyze information and manage multiple priorities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or higher education advancement.
    • Experience with Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, Workday, or similar systems.
    • Experience developing fundraising communications and reports.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

    Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. This position is primarily in-person, with occasional remote work flexibility subject to supervisor approval following successful completion of the probationary period.


    Pay: $60,800 - 65,100/year. The salary offer in this range will be commensurate with the candidate’s background and experience. Benefits and other terms and conditions of employment are highly competitive.
