Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Coordinator on behalf of a respected, mission-driven nonprofit organization in Lakeland, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-focused fundraising professional who is passionate about building authentic donor partnerships and advancing meaningful community impact.

Reporting to the Development leadership team, the Development Coordinator will cultivate and strengthen relationships with individual donors, identify new philanthropic opportunities, and execute strategic engagement plans that support organizational growth and long-term fundraising success.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and natural relationship builder who thrives in a mission-driven environment. This individual will be responsible for managing a portfolio of individual supporters, developing personalized donor engagement strategies, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and representing the organization throughout the community. Success in this role requires emotional intelligence, strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and a genuine passion for connecting people with purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors and prospective supporters through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship.
  • Develop strategic donor engagement plans that increase philanthropic support and long-term relationships.
  • Conduct donor meetings, networking opportunities, and outreach through in-person, virtual, and phone interactions.
  • Partner with executive leadership and key stakeholders to identify giving opportunities and strengthen donor engagement strategies.
  • Prepare customized proposals, impact updates, stewardship communications, and donor correspondence.
  • Track donor activity, interactions, and fundraising progress within the organization's donor database.
  • Analyze donor trends and engagement opportunities to help inform fundraising strategies and portfolio development.
  • Support fundraising campaigns, community outreach initiatives, donor appreciation efforts, and special events.
  • Represent the organization professionally with donors, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment and professionalism in all donor interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in major gifts, development, fundraising, donor relations, advancement, or nonprofit business development.
  • Demonstrated success cultivating and stewarding high-value donor or client relationships.
  • Experience utilizing donor databases, CRM systems, or comparable relationship management software.
