Shift: Monday-Friday, Standard 1st shift hours
Location: 100% Remote / Minneapolis Hybrid (preferred, On site 2 days a week)
Contract Length: 6–12 months (potential extension)
Pay range: $69.23 - $115.38/hr.
Job Description.Description Strong senior IC who can ramp quickly and contribute meaningful code within the firstfew sprints.
Operating independently within defined architecture and technical direction. Able to work across backend services and front-end UX implementation. Proactively identifies risks, blockers, and delivery tradeoffs. Supports team execution by mentoring or guiding less experienced engineers when needed.  Required Skills 
  • 7+ years of backend software engineering experience building and operating production systems
  • Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with hands-on experience using Spring Boot
  • Experience building and scaling microservices and REST APIs in distributed systems environments
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms (publishing, consuming, troubleshooting)
  • Strong database experience, including:
    • Relational (e.G., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
    • OR NoSQL (e.G., DynamoDB, MongoDB)
  • Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Proficiency with containerization and deployment tooling (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.G., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Production support experience, including monitoring, logging, and incident resolution
Strongly Preferred
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments with multiple dependent systems
  • Experience with system migrations or service modernization efforts
  • Familiarity with fraud detection, risk systems, or security-related domains
Nice to Have
  • Frontend development experience using React (supporting UI contributions, not primary focus)
