to partner with a nationally recognized non-profit Hospice & Palliative
care facility in Dallas, TX and we are seeking a skilled and dependable Development
Speialist to play a vital role in advancing the organization’s fundraising and
donor engagement efforts.
Reporting to the Director, Donor Relations & Grants,
you will lead direct mail and digital giving initiatives, cultivate meaningful
donor connections, and support strategic fundraising campaigns.
In this role, you'll
combine creative storytelling with strong organizational and
relationship-building skills to create impactful donor communications, maintain
accurate fundraising data, and deliver exceptional stewardship that grows the
organization’s philanthropic community and advances its compassionate mission.
Schedule: Full-Time |
Hybrid | 3 days in office/week
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization's Direct Response and Digital
Giving campaigns
- Manage seasonal giving programs and lead the Young
Professionals Group to expand philanthropic reach
- Partner with vendors to plan & execute Direct
Mail and Digital Giving campaigns
- Contribute to vibrant story ideas, gather images, copy
write and edit materials, and analyze revenue trends
- Cultivate donor relationships through personalized
outreach, phone calls, handwritten notes, and timely acknowledgments of their
generosity
- Maintain accurate donor records and correspondence
through high-volume data entry in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT
- Monitor donor giving trends and collaborate with
the Data Management team to ensure accurate physical and digital mailings
- Support fundraising events, community outreach
initiatives, and public speaking engagements as an active team member
- Respond
promptly and professionally to donor inquiries, concerns, and requests while
delivering exceptional customer service
- Uphold and promote the agency's
mission, philosophy, and administrative policies
- Perform
other duties and special projects as assigned
What We Are Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; English,
Journalism, or Public Relations preferred
- 1–2 years of professional experience
required
- Nonprofit experience and knowledge of
the Dallas philanthropic community preferred
- Proficient in reading & writing
English and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge
NXT preferred or willingness to learn

- Valid Texas driver's license, reliable
transportation, and current auto liability insurance
- Ability to meet fundraising deadlines while being professional
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally and
travel locally as needed
