Schedule: 1st shift 7 am to 4 pm

The Entry-Level Device Harvest Technician is an individual with a foundational understanding of computer hardware who focuses on the systematic teardown and component recovery of end-of-life or severely damaged devices. Unlike a diagnostic repair role, this position prioritizes high-volume disassembly, sorting, and grading of viable components to supply the internal depot parts inventory for K-12 district repairs. This role provides hands-on hardware experience, a strong foundation in 5S workstation organization, and a clear pathway for career advancement into advanced repair or technical inventory departments.

Job Duties

• Systematically disassemble Chromebooks using proper hand tools to extract components with speed and precision, avoiding secondary damage to viable parts.
• Visually inspect extracted hardware to determine its functional and cosmetic viability for reuse.
• Aim to consistently harvest a high volume of Chromebook units per day while maintaining strict quality control over the yield.
• Record and count extracted parts and assist the Parts Inventory Management Team, ensuring stock counts align across physical and digital records.
• Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary tools specific to teardown operations.
• Maintain proper safety practices and strict battery handling procedures during the breakdown of units.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor and Project Lead.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.

Experience Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and dependable attendance.
• Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
• Education or experience (professionally or personally) with PC Hardware repair

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a related industry or similar position is preferred.
• Experience working in fast-paced, customer-focused, manufacturing, warehouse, administrative, or professional environments is beneficial depending on the assignment.
• Relevant certifications, technical training, or specialized skills are considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are well positioned for success as a Device Harvest Repair Technician.
