Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is seeking a strong DevOps and Platform Engineer. This role is centered on building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes to support modern application delivery. Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain CI pipelines (builds, unit tests, linting)
  • Design and implement CD pipelines (blue/green, rolling deployments)
  • Manage artifact and version control processes
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Develop and maintain observability solutions (logging, metrics, tracing)
  • Implement alerting strategies with noise reduction and proper routing
  • Ensure release readiness (health checks, smoke tests)
  • Develop rollback and feature flag strategies
  • Manage secrets (vaults, rotation, scopes)
  • Integrate security practices (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning)
  • Support change management processes (tickets, approvals, documentation)
  • Optimize runtime configurations (autoscaling, quotas, tuning)
  • Maintain configuration management across environments
  • Develop and maintain runbooks for release and incident management
  • Participate in on-call rotations
  • Support backup and disaster recovery execution
  • Implement API gateway policies and proxy configurations
  • Enable contract testing and compatibility validation
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Document pipelines, infrastructure, and operational procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or related roles
  • This position requires deep experience in automation, release engineering, and operational excellence
Strong experience with:
  • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Cloud infrastructure provisioning (networking, computer, databases, storage)
  • Monitoring, logging, and observability tools
  • Release engineering and deployment strategies
  • Security integration within pipelines
  • Configuration and environment management
  • Experience with incident management and operational support
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Harness or similar CI/CD tools
  • Understanding of .NET API architecture and application workflows
  • Experience implementing gateway policies (authentication, rate limiting, quotas)
  • Exposure to contract testing and compatibility gates
  • Financial services or banking experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
