Job Title: DevOps Engineer – Cloud Integration & Platform Automation

Location: Hybrid/Remote (Travel as Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale Customer Transformation Program focused on modernizing customer platforms and enterprise integrations. This role will be responsible for designing, automating, and supporting the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes that enable middleware and integration solutions across multiple enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Azure, MuleSoft, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Apache Kafka, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices. This individual will work closely with architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, and development teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable deployment of enterprise integration solutions.


Project Overview

This enterprise-wide Customer Transformation initiative is focused on designing and implementing modern middleware, APIs, cloud-native services, and event-driven integrations that connect numerous customer-facing and back-office enterprise applications. The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in automating infrastructure, managing deployment pipelines, coordinating cross-functional infrastructure dependencies, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the integration platform.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support DevOps processes for enterprise integration platforms supporting a large-scale customer transformation initiative.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for applications developed on Azure, MuleSoft, SAP BTP, and Apache Kafka platforms.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and maintain cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement deployment automation using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and modern DevOps best practices.
  • Support cloud infrastructure and application deployments across Azure and enterprise integration platforms.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and development teams to automate application deployments, environment provisioning, and release management.
  • Manage platform configurations and deployment dependencies across MuleSoft, SAP BTP, Azure, and Kafka environments.
  • Coordinate infrastructure requests and dependencies with networking, security, cloud, and enterprise platform teams.
  • Manage and coordinate infrastructure components including:
    • Load Balancers
    • SSL/TLS Certificates
    • Firewall Requests
    • Network Connectivity
    • Environment Provisioning
  • Ensure infrastructure meets enterprise security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, networking, and platform issues across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Apply systems thinking to evaluate platform dependencies, identify risks, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain technical documentation for deployment pipelines, infrastructure configurations, automation processes, and operational procedures.
  • Track work assignments, user stories, technical tasks, risks, and dependencies using Jira while actively participating in Agile ceremonies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation.
  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise integration platforms, including:
    • MuleSoft
    • Microsoft Azure
    • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
    • Apache Kafka
  • Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using:
    • Git
    • GitHub
    • GitHub Actions
  • Experience managing cloud deployments, release automation, and environment provisioning.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, certificates, load balancing, and firewall management.
  • Experience coordinating infrastructure requests and cross-team technical dependencies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across cloud infrastructure and enterprise platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proficiency using Jira for work management, sprint tracking, and issue management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise customer transformation or digital modernization initiatives.
  • Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of Azure networking, API management, and cloud security.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or container orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and platform performance optimization.
  • Utility or energy industry experience is preferred but not required.
