Our Government Client in Downtown, NYC is searching for a 12+month Azure Devops Engineer to come onsite 3 days a week for a 35 hour week.

Scope of Work

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for the smooth operation of Client Client infrastructure Assets created and maintained on different Cloud Services. Day to day work includes interactions with developers to deploy and manage code changes, and with Server and Network Operations Engineers to ensure that systems are up and running smoothly. To be successful in this role, a DevOps engineer must have a deep understanding of both development and operations processes, as well as a strong technical background.
The candidate specific duties will include:
  • Plan, design, install, configure, secure, maintain, and support all Wintel-based Physical/Virtual Servers and Storage Infrastructure
  • Analyze, monitor server resources utilization to ensure optimum server/storage performance by alleviating the bottlenecks
  • Ensure that all Changes to the environment adheres to established Change Management policies and Procedures
  • Maintain disaster recovery configurations and Disaster recovery documentation and procedures in support of the infrastructure
  • Work closely with various Teams/Groups and other Engineers to resolve reported issues
  • Evaluate new systems and applications requirements in related to server and storage requirements
  • Create and maintain Developed Systems Solutions Architecture Diagrams using MS Visio
  • Develop comprehensive project plans for Wintel/Storage projects.
  • Develops timelines and work breakdown structures
  • Setup and monitor system alerts to provide 24x7 support and high availability
  • Liaise with vendors to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Follow communications protocol for system failures/outages and file incident reports
  • Escalate major hardware/software problems to senior IT staff
  • Respond to Service Desk tickets for technical support ensuring timely follow up and resolution
  • Prepare system configurations and management/support documentation
  • Available to work after hours and weekends as needed

Vendor Qualifications
  • Must have 5 years' proven experience as a Systems Administrator in Planning, Designing, Configuring, and Managing Server's Infrastructure
  • Must be DevOps Certified on one, or both, of the primary Cloud Services providers, Azure & AWS
 
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Virtualization Technologies in General, not only limited to VMware Products
  • Must have extensive knowledge of High Available Environments running on Virtualized Infrastructure
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Server and Storage Hardware
  • Working experience with the following Products and Technologies: Kubernetes (AKS, ARO) Technologies, Cloud Services, Microsoft Windows 2019/2022, VMWare vSphere, Unix/Linux, File System, DNS, WINS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SFTP, Security Diagnostics Tools, User Authentication, Data Management, Password management, Security Stack, Centrify PAM, Strong Scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing and resolving technical (hardware, software) problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and customer service skills; Ability to multitask and perform in a high-paced/high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work within a group to solve complex problems
  • Ability to communicate with different levels of the organization
  • Strong team player with service-oriented attitude and customer focus
