Job Summary
Southern Company Services is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of DevOps experience to design, implement, and support enterprise CI/CD automation, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and cloud platforms. This role will lead automation initiatives, optimize software delivery pipelines, and collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer and support Azure DevOps and GitHub platforms.
· Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
· Develop automation using PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and GitHub workflows.
· Manage repositories, branching strategies, permissions, and access controls.
· Troubleshoot pipeline failures, integrations, and deployment issues.
· Collaborate with development teams to implement DevOps best practices.
· Support cloud platforms, automation frameworks, and container technologies.
· Create technical documentation and improve deployment processes.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
· 5+ years of DevOps, CI/CD, or Infrastructure Automation experience.
· Strong experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Cloud.
· Experience with Git source control, automation, and cloud infrastructure.
· Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and OpenShift.
· Knowledge of ARM Templates, Bicep, Azure Resource Groups, Key Vaults, and secure networking.
· Experience with DevOps architecture, enterprise automation, and release management.
· Agile certifications (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach) are a plus.
