Description: We are hiring a senior engineer to join our multifaceted technology team. This role operates at the intersection of application development, automation, and operational ownership. It is closer to a startup-style generalist engineering role than a narrowly defined enterprise specialization. You will spend most of your time authoring reusable tooling, modernizing legacy systems, and establishing patterns that scale across multiple application teams. You will work on a small, senior team with high ownership.

What This Role Is

This is a very wide-scoped engineering team, closer to the application portfolio level. We are a newly reorganized shared services team supporting multiple suites of applications.

Duties Composition

25% – CI/CD & DevOps Engineering
Design and own pipelines, workflows, and SDLC patterns

25% – Automation & Reusable Libraries
Author shared tooling and frameworks

25% – Operational Ownership (L2/L3)
Triage, reliability work, and system hardening

25% – Shared Services Engineering & Cross-Team Delivery
Support multiple application teams with common platforms and patterns

What This Role Is Not
  • Not a pure DevOps/pipeline-only role
  • Not a production support or ticket-queue-driven role
  • Not a Global Technology infrastructure specialization
  • Not a central platform engineering org detached from applications

What You Will Build

DevOps Pipelines & SDLC Practices
  • Bring CI/CD pipeline authorship and modern SDLC practice to the team as its designated SME.
  • Design and own GitHub Actions workflows for new repositories — build, test, and deploy.
  • Establish branching, code review, versioning, and release patterns that the team will standardize on.
  • Collaborate with Global Technology DevOps and security teams to align team practice with enterprise standards without surrendering team velocity.

.NET Logging & Monitoring Libraries
  •
  • Build and publish PowerShell automation for ETL and operational tasks that other engineers reuse.
  • Integrate structured logging across Splunk, Dynatrace, and Azure Log Analytics Workspace as a first-class concern of every library you ship.

Managed File Transfer (MFT) Modernization
  • Own the modernization of file transfer processes across 100+ internal flows critical to daily financial operations.
  • Refactor legacy transfer scripts and integrate secure internal vault patterns as a reusable design.
  • Partner with Global Technology file transfer teams to deprecate legacy applications and onboard functionality to Azure flows.
  • IT Operations Support Duties
  • Own certificate lifecycle management and software installation.
  • Participate in L2/L3 incident escalations, triage, and outage management.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Implement regular software security patch updates and resolve vulnerabilities.
  • Configure user groups and manage access requests across the tech stack.
  • Implement application-facing SSO setups

What You Will Bring
  •
  • Judgment to operate with minimal oversight on complex builds with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • 6–8 years of hands-on engineering experience authoring automation, libraries, or platform tooling that other engineers consumed. Portfolio, repositories, or specific authored systems you can speak to in depth during interview.
  • Demonstrated authorship of code through CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions strongly preferred; Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI acceptable) and modern SDLC practice.
  • Fluency in at least one general-purpose language (PowerShell strongly preferred, Python acceptable) at the level of authoring maintainable, scalable modules and libraries.
  • Demonstrated history of refactoring or replacing legacy systems, not solely operating them.
  • Working fluency with enterprise observability (Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure Log Analytics) for the purpose of instrumenting systems you build.
  • Comfort participating in incident management, RCA, and operational rotations as a shared team baseline — sufficient to contribute, not as the center of the role.

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience working within Agile on engineering deliverables.
  • Strong application development experience in Azure will be given high consideration.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security, compliance, and governance in cloud environments.
