DevOps Engineer (The Woodlands, TX)

Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience; 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related role

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Modernize and support the CI/CD platform for product, data, and enterprise applications.
• Lead the migration from Octopus Deploy and TeamCity to GitHub Actions, ensuring automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
• Maintain self-hosted GitHub Actions runner infrastructure and related components.
• Develop reusable workflows and automation solutions to enhance deployment efficiency and consistency.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code resources and deployment configurations.
• Collaborate with development teams to modernize build, release, and deployment processes.
• Support GitHub Enterprise administration, governance, and platform optimization.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and best practices.
• Work with platform, data, and application teams to ensure reliable and scalable delivery pipelines.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related role.
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions.
• Proficiency in GitHub Actions, source control management, and software delivery practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Linux-based systems, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in migrating applications between CI/CD platforms like Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience in administering GitHub Enterprise, including governance and access controls.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, or other infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience in cloud-native environments in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with application modernization and containerized workloads.
• Experience with enterprise data, analytics, or platform engineering teams.
