Position Overview
We are seeking a senior
DevOps Lead / Azure DevOps Engineer to lead DevOps engineering and automation activities supporting technology environments for the
U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
The role will provide technical leadership for CI/CD, source control, infrastructure automation, release management, deployment processes, and DevOps tooling. The successful candidate will work closely with architecture, development, data, infrastructure, and security teams to establish reliable, secure, and repeatable delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and implementation of DevOps practices and automation solutions.
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) and related technologies.
- Establish automated build, test, deployment, and release processes.
- Define branching, source-control, build, release, and deployment strategies.
- Automate infrastructure and application deployment processes.
- Integrate security and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop reusable pipeline templates, scripts, automation frameworks, and deployment patterns.
- Support environment configuration and release management across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot build, deployment, and configuration issues.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, system administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and other technical teams.
- Establish DevOps standards, processes, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve deployment speed, reliability, repeatability, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to DevOps and automation engineers.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure DevOps processes align with DOJ security and information-technology requirements.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, systems engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience with source control and automated build/release processes.
- Experience with scripting and automation using technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.
- Experience with infrastructure/configuration automation.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps concepts and practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex deployment, integration, and infrastructure issues.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government or DOJ environments.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience integrating security testing and controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with containers and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
Clearance
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain the applicable federal Public Trust suitability determination.
Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 annually. Compensation is determined in good faith and may vary based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, clearance level, labor category alignment, contract requirements, work location, internal equity, and business needs.
The posted range reflects the Sky's reasonable estimate at the time of posting and does not guarantee a specific salary or rate. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and applicable contractual and business considerations.
