Job Title: DEXA (Bone Densitometry) Technologist

Location: 1051 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08755
Duration: 1-year contract with potential for renewal up to 4 additional 1-year option periods
Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM EST
How many shifts needed per month: ~20 22 shifts/month (2,080 hrs/yr)
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 to 8 weeks
Certifications:
Experience needed:
- General RT experience; DEXA-specific experience preferred.
Special Skills needed:
- Bone Densitometry (DEXA) exams of lumbar spine, hips, and forearms
- General radiography: X-ray, fluoroscopy assistance
- Preparing/administering contrast media and medications per state/federal regs
- Knowledge of digital radiography (CR/DR) and PACS
- Producing radiographic studies used for medical diagnosis (locating injuries, foreign bodies, pathology, lesions)
Responsibilities:
- Perform DEXA and general radiographic exams per protocol; patient prep/positioning/education
- QC of images; minimize patient radiation exposure (lead shielding, beam limiting)
- Monitor patient for adverse changes during exam
- Document delayed/pending cases in CPRS with completion plan
- Prepare digital images via PACS for radiologist
- Participate in QI and staff meetings
