DHH Classroom Teacher

Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) – Itinerant | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year

We’re seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for an itinerant role supporting K–12 students across a school district in DeKalb, IL. This is a great opportunity for educators who enjoy variety in their day and working with students in multiple settings. Fluency in sign language is not required for this position, making it a more flexible opportunity for qualified candidates. New graduates are encouraged to apply!

Position Details

• Location: DeKalb, IL
• Start Date: Orientation begins August 3, 2026
• First Day with Students: August 11, 2026
• End Date: May 21, 2027
• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (full-time)
• Setting: Itinerant role (traveling between school sites)
• Grade Level: K–12
• Caseload: To be determined

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement
• New graduates are encouraged to apply
• Sign language skills are a plus but not required
