Overview Diabetes Educator at Providence Medford- OBGYN Health Center and Providence Medical Group Stewart Meadows. This position is part-time, 24 hours per week and a Day Schedule.Responsibilities Provide education for clients with diabetes of all ages according to the individualized needs of the client. This includes a health and education assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of an education plan, and consideration of psychosocial, economic, and language barriers.Perform duties in a classroom or individual outpatient setting in collaboration with a team of RNs and RDs.Accept professional development and community outreach as an integral part of professional practice.Qualifications Oregon Dietitian License upon hire.National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire.Three (3) years of experience in treatment and education of diabetes within the last 2 years.Experience with current adult learning theory in relation to diabetes education.Experience with the clinical management of diabetes.Preferred Qualifications Formal coursework or credentials in principles of adult learning theory and patient-centered learning.Certification in Diabetes Education, or willingness to attain CDE certification upon hire.Experience with diverse ethnic groups.About Providence and Benefits Providence offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees and their families.
