The nurse diabetes educator/coordinator is a health professional who is either registered or licensed by an appropriate accrediting body in her/his field. The coordinator is an experienced health care professional with a strong background in diabetes education. Certification by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is desirable.
Licensure: RN licensed in the state of practice.
