Under the general direction of the Radiologist and under the supervision of the Director of Radiology, coordinates the flow of the daily activities in assigned areas of responsibility.
Under the general supervision of the Director, prepares schedules for assigned staff for approval and partakes in team interviews with candidates for positions in assigned areas.
Will provide performance appraisals for assigned team members to the Director.
Completes audit and correction of department payroll records.
Assists with implementation of policies and procedures to meet the various accrediting agencies’ regulations and laws.
Responsible to ensure that all ACR, Missouri State, JCAHO, HIPAA and FDA standards are met.
Responsible for helping with the Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Semi-Annual QC procedures.
Helps to maintain QA records, tests and audits.
Responsible for interfacing with other departments, physicians and their office staff, patients and their families, visitors and Radiology employees, as needed.
Ensures that the department is kept neat and tidy at all times.
Maintains all relevant equipment and procedure rooms.
Responsible for the orientation and training of new technologists.
Responsible for efficient and quick patient throughput.
Provides input to annual staff reviews.
Performs duties of Radiologic Technologist, when needed.
Monitors daily productivity to ensure effective use of personnel and resources.
Monitors patient satisfaction and recommends changes to improve the service.
Helps promote the business. Provides input into the growth of the business, selection of equipment and marketing.
May assist other areas of the Radiology Department and perform other duties as assigned.
Functions in direct cooperation with the physician and other radiology personnel.
Works within guidelines established in the policy and procedure manual and complies with all radiation safety guidelines demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique and practices Universal Precautions.
Performs associated duties, i.e. processing films, transporting patients, when necessary and assembling all associated paperwork and films to provide to radiologist for dictation.
Education: Graduate of an accredited program by the Joint Review Committee on Education and Radiological Technology (JCERT).
Licensure: Current registry in good standing with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
Certifications: Must be currently certified in BCLS.
Knowledge/Skills: Must have knowledge of radiology operations (hospital and outpatient). Must have strong interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Must be flexible and self-motivated. Must be a team builder and player with the ability to interact with patients, physicians, and personnel in a pleasant, positive and courteous manner. Must have understanding of the following: Mammography Quality Control Standards if applicable; Organizational Performance Improvement; Radiation Safety; Modality Operations (Procedural and Equipment – Diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy, fixed and stationary, etc.); Film Processing and related items; Computer Documentation and associated paperwork; and other. Must be capable of functioning with initiative and independent judgement. Must have current broad knowledge of the assessment, treatment and care techniques and principles relevant to the growth and development of neonate/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient. Prefer multiple modality certifications, McKesson PACS and Meditech EHR knowledge, and ACR accreditation processes.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of work related experience in a radiology modality (i.e. Diagnostic Radiography, CT, etc.).
