Job Summary:
A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, also known as an Ultrasound Technician, uses specialized equipment to create images of the body's internal structures for diagnostic purposes. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and high-quality images that aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for sonographic procedures
- Operate sonographic equipment to produce high-quality images
- Analyze images to identify abnormalities or areas of concern
- Provide patient care and support during procedures
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare team to provide accurate diagnoses
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- Certification (RDMS or RVT) preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
