Job Description

Are you a Radiologic Technologist who thrives on utilizing your skillset in the OR environment? This is for a new Part-time benefitted position at the East Washington Street Surgery Center location in Indianapolis, IN. This position will be scheduled 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and will also be expected to float to other Beltway Surgical Centers throughout Indy when case coverage is needed. No weekends, nights, or holidays. The technologist will be responsible for running C-Arms for surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures, and will act as a liaison between the OR Teams and Imaging Services. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physicians instructions, prepares and operates equipment, and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Displays leadership characteristics by volunteering for improvement initiatives and interdepartmental committees, seeking new ways to improve team collaboration and success, functioning as a subject matter expert, and acting as a mentor to assist in team development and coaching.

Advanced responsibilities may include acting as an onboarding/orientation preceptor, serving as a clinical instructor for students, providing and leading annual CE opportunities for team members, and acting as the operations leader during the absence of a team lead/supervisor.

Basic Life Support certification is required. Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography (RTR) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.

3-5 years of experience as a radiology diagnostic technologist is preferred. Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
