Job Title: Diagnostic Technician
Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week
Shift: 12-Hour Shifts (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holidays
Compensation
- Traveler Rate: $44 – $47/hour ($1,518 – $1,621/week)
- Local Rate: $34 – $37/hour ($1,172 – $1,276/week)
Position Overview
A leading healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician to support patient care through specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and collect specimens; ensure proper handling and transport to the laboratory.
- Positively identify patients and explain specimen collection procedures.
- Conduct non-invasive cardiology testing including EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress testing.
- Ensure all required laboratory documentation is completed accurately at the time of service.
- Research and verify unusual test requests using available resources.
- Document patient and test information in hospital systems and logs for clinical and regulatory purposes.
- Complete cardiac test ordering and billing documentation.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy Certification (PBT)
- EKG Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Skills & Experience:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Emergency Room experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong patient interaction and communication skills are essential
- Must meet all required qualifications to be considered
