The Die Cast Operator is responsible for operating a die cast machine (DCM) and/or degating/trimming parts, as needed. The Die Cast Operator will be responsible for the quality of production on the machine.
Operate die cast machine as defined in work instructions, to produce good quality parts to meet standards.
Inspect parts as required to assure product quality and identify and tag parts per work instructions.
Keep the cast conveyor unloaded (if applicable), and prepare castings for shipment and/or secondary operations.
Performs repairs/maintenance on DCMs in the department, as required and upon authorization by the supervisor and/or lead (i.e. repairing water leaks, replacing cutters, changing nozzles, etc.).
Complete all paperwork associated with the job (production records, quality results, scrap, etc.).
Report unsafe conditions. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep work area clean and orderly.
Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines
Perform other associated duties, functions, or work as needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company.
Experience
High school diploma, GED, or skilled trade certificate
Must be able to read and understand written directives. Follow instructions that are visual and verbal.
Must be able to read, write, and use math required
Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
