The mission

Operate and set up die casting machines to produce quality parts safely and efficiently. You’ll be the hands-on expert who ensures dies, parameters, and auxiliary equipment align to spec—every run, every shift.

  • Site: Gardner Denver Thomas (Union), 1419 Illinois Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081
  • Onsite: Sheboygan, WI
  • Shift: 3rd Shift — Sunday 11:00 p.m. start through Friday 7:00 a.m. end (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.)

Your impact

  • Check die condition and perform visual inspections on parts to confirm quality.
  • Remove and install die casting dies; make machine adjustments to meet production standards.
  • Complete machine setups; before pressing start, ensure your setup is reviewed by a Supervisor or Group Leader.
  • Assist maintenance with repairs as directed to keep lines running.
  • Set up and, when required, operate auxiliary equipment: ladle, auto-spray, robotics, and trim press.
  • Adhere to gauging/part check procedures on the specified timeline.
  • Follow verbal instructions and Process Sheets to deliver safe, high-quality output.

Do you have the background?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma a plus.
  • At least 1 year in a die casting environment.

Can you meet the demands?

  • Standing work with walking, bending, and stooping; heavier handling may occur during setup.
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying: 5 lbs. constantly, 35 lbs. frequently, 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work around hazards such as serious cuts, burns, bruises, and potential permanent injury—goggles and heavy gloves are mandatory. Attentive work practices reduce risk.
  • Expect heat, dirt, grease, fumes, and noise above 85 dB (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85 dB).
  • Use small hand tools (wrenches, mallet, chisel, screwdrivers) and hoists/lift or hand trucks to move/install dies.

  • Comfort taking verbal instruction from a supervisor.
  • Able to read, write, and interpret simple drawings.
