Imagine This

You step to the press with a clear plan. You’ve studied the layout and specs, set the die, dialed in registration, and run your pulls. Each sheet meets the mark—clean edges, accurate cuts, zero surprises. That’s the standard you’ll champion here.

Your Impact

Are you energized by precision and problem solving? In this role, you will:

  1. Own make-ready and production (about 80%): Set up and run Bobst Platen and Heidelberg Cylinder die-cutters to Snyder packaging quality standards, adjusting the equipment for consistent, compliant output and troubleshooting issues in real time.
  2. Perfect the strip (about 10%): Set up stripping tooling at the pin setting table for clean removal and efficient throughput.
  3. Keep records tight (about 5%): Enter data, complete forms, and maintain accurate operating and maintenance logs.
  4. Protect the assets (about 5%): Clean equipment, conduct routine upkeep, and submit maintenance requests when needed.

What Success Looks Like

  • Every job starts with a full understanding of layout, specs, and requirements.
  • Predetermined run pulls confirm setup before full-speed production.
  • Defects are caught early; adjustments are swift and effective.
  • Safety and quality standards from Snyder guide every decision.
  • Coordination with the supervisor and plant manager is clear and proactive.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating die-cutting equipment.
  • Basic shop math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Intermediate English proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry, typing, and printing.
  • Comfort with measurements; accurate ruler reading is a must.

Core Competencies

  • Mechanical aptitude and practical problem solving.
  • Sharp eye for defects and quality variances.
  • Working knowledge of printing, die-cutting, and gluing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with team members.

Physical Reality & Environment

Expect manual machine loading with lifting and some climbing. Work can be repetitive yet varied, requires strength, and involves semi-automatic equipment—good eyesight is essential. You’ll operate in a general warehouse within a paperboard packaging facility, with regular reaching, bending, and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
