    Job Description

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Review customer-supplied drawings and specifications to determine whether dies can be manufactured in-house or require outsourcing to a laser-cut die supplier.
    • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create tooling designs and convert concepts into production-ready blueprints.
    • Select appropriate die board materials, steel rule, punches, and other tooling components based on project requirements.
    • Transfer, verify, and inspect design layouts to ensure accuracy before fabrication.
    • Operate steel rule bending equipment to form steel rule profiles for die construction.
    • Inspect completed tools and dies for defects, damage, or imperfections that could impact performance or product quality.
    • Coordinate with Quality Control to verify tooling dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
    • Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications to dies, die boards, steel rule, and punches to meet customer requirements.
    • Report quality concerns, production issues, or tooling discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
    • Follow departmental procedures, work instructions, and quality standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Assist with additional fabrication-related duties as assigned by management.
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment in accordance with Sealing Devices' Quality Management System, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Experience as a Tool & Die Maker, Die Maker, or related manufacturing role preferred.
    • Completed education of a High School Diploma / GED
    • Proficiency with CAD software and blueprint interpretation.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
    • Experience working with precision measuring tools and maintaining tight tolerances.
    • Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs as needed.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
    • Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and products up to 25-50 pounds.
    • Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling, assembling, and operating machinery and tools.
    • Ability to perform repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and arms.
    • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be able to hear machine sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment.
    • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting and climbing to load/unload materials and maintain equipment.
    • Must be able to work in an environment with noise, vibration, and varying temperatures, while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members.
