    Die Repair - 2nd Shift

    Job Description

    Repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies consistent with original specifications, operating all machines and equipment associated with this process.

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies using lift trucks, die cleaning equipment, and cranes.
    • Build and replace segments, cores, details, and parts from blueprints using required tools or equipment.
    • Draw polish or grind die cavity surfaces.
    • Make repairs, remove stuck castings, correct dimensional problems, change cores and trim punches while dies are mounted on machines.
    • Perform welding duties in the foundry and the Die Repair Department.
    • Troubleshoot production tooling problems, performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
    • Complete forms, die work orders, pictorials, signoffs, and records as directed.
    • Maintain work area, equipment, and department in neat and orderly condition.
    • Train new employees.
    • Perform all other duties incidental to the safe and efficient operation of the tool and die repair department.

    Must-Have Qualifications

    • Ability to perform highly skilled tasks and solve complex problems (Associates Degree, trade or technical school, or journeyperson certificate).
    • Up to 2 years relevant training/experience required. If minimum is not met, employee must complete 2 years of on-the-job training.
    • Ability to draw polish or grind die cavity surfaces using required tools or equipment.

    Nice to Have

    • Tool & Die Repair Journeyman Papers (a plus, not required).

    • Tentative Shift End Time: 11:00 PM
