Reporting to the die shop supervisor, this role involves setup, inventory management and caustic cleaning for all extrusion tooling. This position had upward mobility to a die polisher position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Works closely with the die shop supervisor, die correctors/polishers and extrusion press teams to ensure that tooling is available at the press when needed
- Removes used tooling from the press and delivers it to the caustic room
- Loads and unloads the caustic system
- Rinses and sandblasts tooling so it can be inspected and repaired
- Delivers clean tooling to the die shop for inspection and correction
- Uses a computer to identify the correct location of tooling and it's die history
- Takes tooling to the die racks and places it in the proper location
- Identifies misplaced tooling and corrects location information in the system
- Created identifying marks on tooling using a small hand grinder
- Moves tooling using various overhead cranes and lift trucks
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be self-motivated and organized
- Must have good analytical skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to read profile prints
- Must be able to operate various overhead cranes and forklifts
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
