Diesel & Medium/Heavy Truck Instructor - Put Your Experience to Work (No Teaching Experience Needed)

We're looking for experienced diesel professionals who can bring energy, technical knowledge, and real-world experience into the classroom and lab.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Diesel & Medium/Heavy Truck Instructor, you'll use your hands-on industry experience to teach students the skills they need to begin successful careers in diesel and heavy-duty truck repair.

You will:

• Teach hands-on diesel and medium/heavy-duty truck repair and diagnostic skills
• Demonstrate proper safety procedures, tool usage, equipment operation, and repair techniques
• Share real-world troubleshooting strategies and diagnostic best practices
• Teach students how to properly inspect, diagnose, service, and repair diesel and heavy-duty systems
• Mentor and guide students at various skill levels as they develop their technical abilities
• Help students understand professional shop practices, organization, and workplace expectations
• Prepare students for industry certifications, including ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications
• Engage students through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and practical instruction
• Participate in paid training, ongoing professional development, and instructor development
• Receive and respond to ongoing coaching, training, and feedback
• Work independently while receiving support from an experienced education team

No education degree or previous teaching experience is required - we provide the training, curriculum, and support you need to become an effective instructor.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 3 years of practical work experience as a diesel mechanic or in a related field
• Strong knowledge of diesel and medium/heavy-duty truck repair and diagnostic procedures
• ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification preferred
• ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certification preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to use common software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• High energy level and the ability to engage and motivate students
• Willingness to learn and apply instructional strategies through training and professional development
