About the Role: KC Fleet Service Inc is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic and a motivated Helper to join our growing team in Deer Park, NY! Responsibilities: - Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, fleet vehicles, and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Assist with parts sourcing, ordering, and inventory management
- Support senior mechanics with repairs and service tasks (Helper role)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards
- Document service records and repair orders accurately
Requirements: - Experience as a diesel mechanic or in a mechanical helper/apprentice role preferred
- Familiarity with diesel engines, drivetrain systems, and fleet vehicles
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
