As a Mechanic - Pump (Service Tech II) within the Fluid division at United Rentals, you'll use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of pumps. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you'll have the potential to work towards higher level Tech roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:
  • Perform service documentation
  • Train lower level Technicians
  • Demonstrate equipment for customers
  • Travel to customer sites
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining pumps of various sizes, capacities and manufacturers
  • Knowledge of construction equipment
  • Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines
  • Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Own the tools applicable to position
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification/air purification equipment. What you'll do:
  • Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
  • Responsible for service documentation
  • Occasional travel to customer sites
  • Demonstrate equipment for customers
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment
  • Intermediate diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
  • Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Own the tools applicable to position
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

  • Perform maintenance check on rental equipment before and after use
  • Report machine condition to Management
  • Perform routine repairs on Tools with some supervision
  • Perform major repairs under direct supervision of higher level service technicians
  • Recognize and communicate the need for parts and inventory
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
  • Checkout, familiarize, and demonstrate a wider array of more complex Tools for customers
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining Specialty Tools and equipment; or trade school graduate
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Basic knowledge of diagnostic equipment
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

  • Tenir a jour la documentation papier et electronique relative aux travaux effectues (bons de travail) de maniere exhaustive et dans les delais, quotidiennement et pour chaque intervention
  • Participer a l'enlevement et a la livraison des equipements et des pieces
  • Preter, familiariser les clients avec et leur faire une demonstration d'une gamme plus large d'outils plus complexes
  • Effectuer d'autres taches qui vous seront confiees selon les besoins


Exigences :
  • Baccalaureat ou equivalent
  • 1 a 2 ans d'experience dans la reparation et l'entretien d'outils et d'equipements specialises ; ou diplome d'une ecole professionnelle
  • Aptitudes mecaniques averees et connaissance pratique des outils
