Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Department: Field
Report to: VP of Fleet & Logistics
Job Summary:
M5 Utilities is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and diesel-powered machinery to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and driveline components.
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on heavy equipment and trucks.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in the shop and in the field.
Repair and maintain excavators, dozers, loaders, compactors, dump trucks, water trucks, and other construction equipment.
Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
Inspect equipment for safety and operational concerns.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience preferred.
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions.
