Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join a growing team in Columbus! In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines and vehicles such as trucks and buses. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and diagnose issues with engines, brakes, transmissions and steering systems
Repair or replace faulty components including mechanical and electrical parts
Complete routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks and tire rotations
Overhaul and rebuild engines;assist with emission system upgrades
Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations
Test-drive vehicles after repairs to ensure proper performance
Maintain accurate records of services, repairs and inspections
Fabricate and modify parts as needed using various tools and equipment
Requirements & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
Experience with diagnostic tools and software
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks (stooping, kneeling, crawling)
High attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Valid driver s license required
