We have partnered with a premier fleet maintenance company in the Woodbury Heights, NJ area. We are on the hunt for an experienced Diesel Mechanic who thrives in an independent environment, thinks quickly, diagnoses failures, and performs corrective maintenance on heavy diesel equipment with ease. Our Diesel Mechanics work onsite with customers, handling breakdowns, repairs, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and service work on everything from construction equipment and tractors to medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks. No two days are the same.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities as a Diesel Mechanic:
- Travel to client locations to diagnose and repair diesel equipment onsite
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on agricultural equipment, construction equipment, and medium/heavy-duty trucks
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues
- Complete repairs efficiently and professionally while minimizing customer downtime
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues and repair recommendations
- Maintain accurate records of completed service and repairs
- Represent the company professionally while working at customer locations
- Ensure work is completed safely and to the company standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Comfortable meeting clients onsite or at designated service locations
- Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work individually
Full-Time Diesel Mechanic Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday
- In-person role only
- Shop-based with occasional local travel/meet-up locations
