Job Description

ITS Trucks is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, experience working on heavy-duty trucks, and the ability to perform repairs and preventive maintenance to keep our fleet safe and operational.

We are looking for a technician who is comfortable working with modern electronic diagnostic systems and has experience with Freightliner trucks, Detroit Diesel engines, and Cummins engines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on company trucks and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure equipment meets safety requirements.
  • Repair and maintain truck components, including:
    • Brakes
    • Wheel seals
    • Air systems
    • Engine-related components
    • Other mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot issues using electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain and repair Freightliner trucks.
  • Perform diagnostics on Detroit Diesel engines, including:
    • DD13
    • DD15
  • Diagnose and repair Cummins engines.
  • Prepare trucks for inspections and keep equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation.
  • Keep the shop and work areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with fleet readiness and maintenance needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diesel mechanic experience required.
  • Preferred: Diesel Technician Level 2 or Level 3 experience.
  • Experience working on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Experience with Freightliner trucks preferred.
  • Knowledge of Detroit Diesel engines (DD13/DD15).
  • Knowledge of Cummins engines.
  • Experience performing DOT inspections.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Comfortable using computers and electronic diagnostic systems.

Diagnostic Software Experience Preferred

Candidates should have experience with:

  • Detroit DiagnosticLink
  • Cummins INSITE
