    Description

    Diesel Mechanic

    We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our newest Fridley, MN team.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience in diagnosing issues and in working on various types of school buses, heavy equipment, and other vehicles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.

    Starting hourly wage between $25.58 to $44.27 based on experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems.
    • Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
    • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs effectively.
    • Work with schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components.
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.

    Skills

    • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair, including brake repair, transmission work, and air brake systems.
    • Proficiency in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, including hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
    • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
    • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform tire service duties as required.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on automotive diagnostics.
    • Candidates must have the ability to get a CDL or possess one already
    • Strong electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting complex systems.
    • Customer service skills to effectively communicate with teammates about vehicle needs.
